Our third visit as always a very warm welcome and the food and service were first class. Met our friend sfor lunch and ate in the snug with the three dogs on there best behaviour. It is well worth the long drive for us. what a shame this pub is not in our village We will be back again soon.

I first visited West Ashby Arms last summer..... was devastated when I tipped on a Friday night at the end of last summer to find it had closed......! THANK GOD YOU HAVE REOPENED THIS IS THE BEST PUB AND RESTAURANT FOR MILES. I have visited on a weekly basis this summer the food and staff are excellent, you always feel welcome by everyone. I have eaten in many Michelin Star restaurants in the UK and I can only speak as I find and this is top quality food. Recently took my wifes boss for sunday lunch and he cant stop talking about how good it was... he cant wait for his next visit. Chaps keep up the good work......!

Second visit for my husbands 65th Birthday, second visit as good as the first. Had my sister and her husband with us this time, they were most impressed and have made us promise to go back for other special occassions. The food was wonderful, Malibu Chicken superb, fillet steak divine and the duck perhaps not the best I have eaten, no crispy skin but the veg made up for it, I love swede and as no-one else does so had it all. Desserts a real treat, all in all a wonderful night and will definately be going back. Well done boys.

Well what a fabulous fantastic place to eat. Believe me you don't get such quality and finesse in brimingham. The food was out standing. The pub was spotless throughout and the landlords. ...Mark and tony. ..Were so warm kind and inviting. ...Can't wait to go back....if only our pubs were as good. Many thanks to you both for a wonderful memorable time. .. Went back for Sunday lunch the day after and it was amazing. ...Lads you should have stars.

Sounds like someone has a bad grudge against the boys at the West Ashby Arms, how sad are they!! I would like to know of another pub in the Horncastle area that can offer what Mark & Tony do??? The food is amazing and the service is better than a five star restaurant. Marks food is really consistant and you definately get what you pay for. The boys are brilliant at running a pub, theres no one in the area that can touch them. Go to Mac Donalds if you don't like their food because you obviously don't know what good food is if you think theirs is rubbish.

tony and mark have done an excellent job in the pub. We know life threw some crap at them but id recommend this place to anyone. Foods excellent and always decent beers on the go. As for people moaning regarding the prices , the old saying you get what you pay for. If you want a pile of crap on a plate for £5.99 go to weatherspoons !

Took my husband for his Birthday, and can thoroughly recommend it. I had the Lamb Shank, delicious, (and I'm quite fussy), hubby had fillet steak and loved it, quite full up so only had the coconut ice-cream, very tasty, then sat in the most comfortable lounge we have seen for a long time. Service was exceptional, served by a very nice young man. Will be visiting again next time we holiday in area.

I have visited the West Ashby Arms twice. The first time I called in for a drink and thought it was great, really nicely done. The second time I took my family back for a meal and we were really looking forward to it, warm and friendly welcome - great menu. We were then very let down by the food we had. Two of our party ordered seafood lasagne and for nearly £12 we didn't expect it to consist solely of crabsticks and muscles! Steak which was overcooked and dry and lambshank served with watery and lumpy mash potato. When questioned the waitress was very polite but the response from the kitchen was unhelpful. We were also drawn in by the midweek special of 3 courses for £14.95 which is still on a huge board outside the pub, only to be told they weren't doing the offer! Corners were cut and they weren't interested in solving our problems, disappointing.

We have visited the West Ashby Arms twice recently, once with a party of 10 and tonight with a party of six. Both times we have been very impressed by the friendly service and the exceptional food on offer. Many of our party were vegetarian and the choice of dishes was mouth watering, for the rest of us 'meat eaters' the food was exemplary. Behind the bar was a keen choice of guest ales along with a broad spectrum of drinks; non-alcoholic and alcoholic. The ambience was warm, friendly and relaxed. In short we will visit again and we highly recommend this little gem in the Lincolnshire Wolds

we visited the Ashby Arms last night. we arrived about 8.00pm having booked for 8.15pm and it appeared to be a nice pub.Barman quite friendly. then it got worse. Very limited seating area. Half the room taken up by two large Chesterfield settees and one armchair. bar man came and took our order for food about 8.15pm. We were still waiting to eat over an "hour" later. just after 8.25pm a waitress came with apologies from the chef for the delay and said our order would be ready in a few minutes.Ten minutes later we were called through to the dining room as our meal was supposedly ready. We waited over ten more minutes before being served,An hour and half to wait for a meal is not good enough. In the climate as it is at the moment for pubs it leaves a lot to be desired. The meal was only average in the end. We will be a long time before we go again.

Choice of food was good. Sunday lunch option available with veg and Yorkshire Puddings. Service was friendly and Ok. Food was fresh and presented well meeting expectations for a first time visit as passing by. The pub was not full for a Sunday lunchtime but there was definitely enough traffic calling for a drink and a meal for mid-January. Will likely get busier as the tourist season gets going. Decor is contemporary and still new. The pub sign boasts - 'best food for miles around' - we will have to try a few more times and compare with others before that is confirmed but it is certainly trying hard to fulfil that aim.

Now refurbished and reopened as the West Ashby Arms. We were the first customers to eat at the new restaurant. Food and service were excellent.
